In my classroom, current events are part of our daily wrap-up routine—though many teachers prefer to do this in the morning! It’s a simple and engaging way to weave in social studies, history, geography, science, and more. Students stay informed about what’s happening in the world (which feels more important now than ever). We watch a short news clip or read an article together, then complete a current events comprehension worksheet to reinforce learning.
Here are some current events videos and article resources designed specifically for students and kids. You might find that some work better than others depending on your students’ learning styles. I’ve personally used several different websites with my own class!
I’ve put together a list below—did I miss any of your favorites? Share them in the comments!
